Robyn Latchman has been taking on more and more of the business of Latchman Insurance Brokers, following in the footsteps of her father, Don, who started the company in 1957. Today, Don serves as the President and C.O.O. of the company and looks after his existing corporate clients, while Robyn Latchman is the company’s V.P. and C.F.O., focusing mainly on Group Benefit Plan design and maintenance and personal wealth creation.

Latchman continues to be a family business with a well diversified spectrum of insurance and financial services and products. Hence, we are able to look at the whole picture to advise our clients on many different goals and solutions. And we do so in a spirit of caring and excellence. At Latchman, the clients are Number One. 

Robyn has been working alongside her father for a number of years, while taking things a couple of steps further. She has continued to strive for service excellence, yet has also continued to educate herself on new products and services and on diversified areas of the industry, in order to provide her clients with a complete and comprehensive analysis and, subsequently, program to achieve their goals. This integrates not only insurance needs but all aspects of their financial affairs.

Our Expertise

Robyn’s areas of expertise encompass corporate needs, such as group, disability and critical illness insurance programs. Often these have not been properly designed to serve the client best and better coverage can result in less cost to the employer and the employee. Other corporate services include such products as Key Person Life, Disability and Critical Illness Protection, Payroll Retirement Deduction Programs and assistance in raising capital for business expansion. Robyn will advise her clients with a view to the desired overall results; short and long term. Her services will include the areas of personal tax planning, retirement and estate funding and financial planning strategies. Clients will achieve greater peace of mind and hence, enjoyment of life.

Regular reviews are an integral part of her services, to ensure everything is on the right track as conditions and requirements change.  Robyn is licensed to provide a complete range of investment and insurance products from a majority of the carriers in the Canadian life insurance industry. She works closely with lawyers, tax advisors, accountants and investment counsellors to develop optimized financial management strategies.

Our Experience

Robyn’s experience in the insurance and financial services industry is augmented by training in Life Underwriting, as a diplomate of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Ontario Mutual Fund (IFIC) Course, and by certification as an Elder Planning Counselor.

She has just completed the last Financial Advisors Association Of Canada (Advocis) course required for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, which denotes her commitment to the highest standards of financial planning. Chartered life underwriter (CLU) is a professional designation for individuals who wish to specialize in life insurance and estate planning. Holders of the Certified Financial Planners (CFP) designation will often add CLU to their credentials to demonstrate additional subject-matter expertise.

One of the things that Robyn specializes in helping clients with Tax Minimization Strategies, including; Planned Giving,  and Life Insurance Trusts.  She also helps parents of special needs children ensure that there children will be financially secure and be able to maintain their government benefits.
